At Wm. Molnar Roofing we specialize in all aspects of residential, commercial, and industrial roofing.  This includes flat roofing, low slope roofing, steep slope roofing, sheet metal, and metal roofing. We also offer crane service and aerial lift rental.

Recent Projects

Alma College - Hogan Center Addition
Approx. 40,000 ft2 new roofing

As a LEED Certified project, we mechanically attached a Carlisle 60 mil white TPO membrane to reduce this building's Heat Island Effect.  The membrane was attached over two layers of 2" polyisocyanurate insulation.  Carlisle's DensDeck Primed was also installed near rooftop units and in high traffic areas to improve the lifetime of the membrane.  Using a mechanically attached system also reduces the indoor air contaminants for occupants, which was enhanced using vapor barrier underneath the insulation.  This project included a manufacturer's warranty for 20 years, by Carlisle.

13,000 ft2 Removal and Replacement

For a complete installation, the existing roof needed to be stripped down to the deck and built back up to specifications set for Garland's Hi-performance Built-Up Roof system.  After removal, this started with a base layer of 2" polyisocyanurate and two layers of 1/2" Hi-Density wood fiber insulation, including a layer of type III hot asphalt mopped between each layer of insulation.  To complete the installation; a layer each of Garland's HPR GlasFelt, VersiPly 40 membrane, and StressPly E cap sheet were installed underneath a final layer of type III hot asphalt and river stone.



Wyandotte Waste Water Treatment Plant
8,000 ft2 Roofing

We installed 1/2" Carlisle-Syntec dens-deck, which was primed and mechanically attached to a type B steel deck.  In accordance to specifications, Carlisle Air and Vapor Barrier was adhered to the dens-deck, followed by two layers of 2" polyisocyanurate roof insulation with tapered saddles and crickets - adhered using Carlisle's FAST adhesive.  To complete the roof, fully adhered 60 mil EPDM was then applied.  With the job completed, Carlisle warranted the roof for 20-years.

10,000 ft2 Siding

We installed double-skin insulated core, vertical interlocking wall panels on a steel framing system.  On five large removable roof hatches, the same panel system was installed.
Wyandotte Municipal

10,000 ft2 Removal and Replacement

Not every job is as simple as removing the old insulation and decking and putting on a new roof.  some require an extensive removal plan, this one in particular.  The existing roof, about 10-15 years old, was a polyurethane foam roof on top of the existing built up gravel roof.  This type of roof in particular had caused many issues for the building from day one, due to the nature of how the system was installed.  Ranging from 8" to 12" thick, the removal was a very labor intensive job as we needed to remove everything down to the wood decking.  Due to the downtown area the building is located -  we secured a permit to close off half of the surrounding street to secure a safe work place and allow a designated area for our 28-ton boom truck to operate.


With the roof stripped down to the wood decking, we needed to build back up.  We mechanically attached a base layer of 2" insulation and then a full 1/4" per foot tapered insulation system set in hot asphalt.  This was followed by a 2-ply Garland hot asphalt built-up roof, along with a Garland Stress-ply E cap sheet - set in hot asphalt and allowed to cure.  After the 30-day curing period we aluminized the roof with Garla-Brite fibered aluminum coating manufactured by Garland.

3-Nicks Bar and Grill (Tap Room)

Removed and replaced roof with Carlisle-Syntec .045 TPO Fully Adhered Membrane.  To insure longevity of the roof, the membrane was adhered with Carlisle's water-based bonding adhesive over their manufactured 2" Polyiso Insulation.  Also, installed solar panels in conjunction with Kulick Enterprises.

Stoneridge Office Complex

As a subcontractor for Ronnisch Construction we installed new shingles, standing seam, and curved metal roof systems with aluminum trim, gutters, and downspouts.

City of Westland - DPS

Contracted by the city to install a new built-up roof system by Garland.  The system went over the top of the existing roof and is warranted by Garland for thirty (30) years.

Woodmont Academy

As a subcontactor for Bouma Construction Group, we removed approximately 50,000 ft2 of two layers of built-up roofing.  Installed a new fully adhered EPDM roof system warranted by Carlisle-Syntec for twenty (20) years.
